ADOPT-A-FAMILY – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2011

TO BENEFIT AND ENRICH THE LIVES OF WELL-DESERVING FAMILIES

Detroit, Michigan (December 2011), Mariners Inn, a homeless shelter and treatment center, is hosting its 5th Annual Adopt-A-Family holiday campaign on Thursday, December 22, 2011. The gift presentation will be provided by the men, donors and staff of Mariners Inn and will take place at 10am and 2pm at Mariners Inn located at 445 Ledyard at Cass Avenue.

The Adopt-A-Family holiday campaign is designed to help local families enjoy a time of year when they need help the most. The men of Mariners Inn are excited to give to families in need and to the people who are supportive in their recovery efforts. While the men provide Christmas to others in need, they also heal themselves and gain a sense of self-worth. With this event coming soon, we urge you to be a part of bringing joy to children and parents in need. To ensure this event is successful, Mariners Inn is currently accepting in-kind and monetary contributions.

“These men may be homeless but they are not helpless!” says David Sampson, CEO for Mariners Inn. “Our men have once again, taken on the Herculean challenge of helping those in need during these difficult economic times. We couldn’t be more proud of them and their efforts to make a family’s holiday season a memorable one. Please join us on this journey to bring joy to the less fortunate and smiles on the faces of their children for the Christmas Holiday.”

Currently the men of Mariners Inn are working hard to collect contributions and provide essential items such as clothing, toys, household items and food for ten (10) families in need. In addition, the Mariners Inn staff seeks to raise $25,000 to provide food, clothing to prescription drugs to the men of the Inn. The staff is also looking for donations of men’s winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, lip balm, puzzle and brain teaser books, travel mugs and travel size toiletries.

If you would like to be part of this joyous occasion and time of giving, please visit www.marinersinn.org to learn how to submit contributions.
